Cosmos SDK v0.53 promises to be fully API compatible with v0.50.
There are a few additions to add in the user app.go / app_config.go: cosmos/cosmos-sdk#24245

Given that Ignite v29.0.0 will use v0.50, once v0.53 is battle tested we can change a later patch version of v29 to default to v29 and add a new command in ignite doctor for chains scaffolded with v29.0.0 to migrate to 0.53.
