#7394 may lead to some rare breakage which we could trigger warnings/errors for, but there will be false negatives.

I think it would be good if we had:

• Errors like these that lasted for n Hugo versions
• That had an ID that could be turned off in site config
• Then we could give a detailed "what to do" in the log
