Description
One of the most important daily systems #113 we need to have working flawlessly in any Community Living Space is Composting
because we all produce organic waste on a daily basis. It might just be banana peel, apple core or other "waste", but can also be a lot more e.g. peeling veg, used coffee grounds and, sadly, spoiled food. π
We currently use stainless steel mixing bowls (cheap and immediately obvious what they are being used for),
but it's not a fool-proof System; last year most of the Workaway people ignored the bowl
and just put organic waste in the trash that goes to landfill. π
We have discussed having a counter-top composter: #199 but it's just another (expensive) appliance to get broken by careless people. πΈ
What we need is a low-tech (no tech) solution that can be followed by anyone consistently.
Easy-to-clean, carry and empty Stainless Steel
compost bin.

We had one of these in LDN
and I used to periodically empty it into the Communal Garden.
But I was the only person who bothered to use (and empty) it ...
What we need is a System with very clear instructions that everyone can follow.
