Great to be at Headline - Asia's annual event, IVS 2025 Kyoto. This is my 6th times attending IVS, and as always, it was a very fruitful trip. It was an honor to present Buy&Ship's vision to Headline's Limited Partners. This was a fantastic opportunity to deepen our relationship with our key investors, and it opens up new avenues to leverage their network and expertise as we accelerate our growth in Japan. The world is changing fast, and we need to rethink and move quickly to stay competitive. The panel "Moat, models and moving first in the AI era," sharing by Sasha Krecinic and Ivo Timóteo, was especially inspiring. It drove home the importance of building strong, defensible moats. Key takeaways for building defensibility in the AI era: - #Solve Hard Problems: Start with 10 difficult challenges and relentlessly focus on the single hardest one. This focus increases the odds of success. - #Build Strong Distribution: A powerful, scalable distribution network is a critical competitive advantage. It would be sad to see great tech and product lacking traction because of go to market. - #Develop Proprietary Data: Unique, valuable data creates a moat that is difficult for others to replicate. - #Assemble the Best Team: Ultimately, having the best talent is the strongest defense. 🚀 Meet Alvaro – Researcher at Braid! 🚀 Alvaro del Pozo brings deep expertise in aerospace engineering, with a journey that spans from Spain to Japan, and from experimental aerodynamics labs to cutting-edge research roles at Boeing. At Braid, he draws on years of experience in high-speed flow analysis, simulation, and manufacturing research, blending rigorous experimentation with real-world impact. His work includes particle image velocimetry studies of supersonic flows—capturing over 20,000 frames per second to reconstruct the behavior of pressure wave at nozzles. Outside the lab, Alvaro’s curiosity extends to 3D graphics, ray tracing, and exploring hidden corners of Tokyo. Spring internship season started 🌸 Eva joined us for 3 months in our Geometry processing team, working with Shane Scott. She is a brilliant student from Utrecht University, completing her Masters this year, with experience in real-time rendering, low-level optimization, mesh processing and geometric algorithms.
