Upcoming release

This branch contains a snapshot of the develop branch with all the compiler related changes since the last release removed. I think this is a good basis for a small bugfix release which shouldn't need extensive testing. For both linux with gcc and Windows with mingw and MSVC, I have checked that everything compiles and no regressions are present in our own tests and the ansi-test suite (except for one small bug which I already fixed and pushed to the develop branch as well). I think that this is enough testing since the amount of changes is not very large and most of those are very unlikely to cause any issues.

@jackdaniel: Feel free to have a look and merge whenever you have time (only the release number in the changelog needs to be fixed, I think everything else should be ready for a new release)
