I agree that the app name isnt quite obvious for end users. I agree that we could consider rebranding. Though i think this could really take place a little later, once the basic features are done and somewhat stable - especialy #116 and #31. I think the main reason why this App doesnt have many users is not that they couldnt find it, but because it is not useful for them. btw, i guess it would be useful to add some keywords like "open source maps" to get better SEO -> #129. |

I think the current name, while I love it, is a bit ambiguous for the end user. If the goal is to become a replacement for Google Maps, then it may be hard for people to find with the current name.
I began looking for an app like this about a week ago. I searched "open source street maps" or something similar. Had this shown up as a result I wouldn't have recognized it as a map.
Instead I found openstreetmap, and through their community found this project.
This project is the most promising I have seen for a Google Maps competitor. I think a name more suited to the public would be advantageous, and a name change is best done sooner rather than later.
