Description
Describe the bug
Latin ï or Cyrillic ї have a few issues:
- ï is poorly spaced in ïj, for example in "yïjï" in Laru language. The same is true for Cyrillic їј, if it is used.
- in general there are inconsistencies in the spacing or kerning of ï, for example in lïl has more space between lï then between ïl.
- the Latin ïï or Cyrillic її substitution to have three dots is a bad idea as some languages use both Latin ïï and ïi or iï (), or Cyrillic її and їi or iї, for example Ukrainian uses both її and ії.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Display ïj or їј and the dot of j clashed into the right dot of ï
- Display lïl and there is more space on the left than on the right of ï
- Display ïï and ïi or iï and the distinction is difficult to notice reasonably.
Expected behavior
- the dot of j should not clash into ï
- ï should be spaced symmetrically in symmetrical contexts like lïl, etc.
- ïï should have four dots and be spaced accordingly, alternatively the dots could be narrower or more tighlty spaced in this context
