Thanks for creating this PR @slinkydeveloper. I am doubtful about aggressively emitting warnings for every started invocation with the next version already. I think this is too little time for users to realistically upgrade their code to the latest SDK versions. Maybe we can do this once we get closer to the actual removal of the service protocols (something we haven't decided yet).
