We are happy to announce that we have released jq-1.7rc1 and we are very close to the next release 1.7.

Note that this is a pre-release. But we believe the command has been much more stable than before. We implemented various features, including the long-awaited numeric literal preservation. and also fixed various bugs, including serious crashes.

So please help us, by testing the release candidate version, to make the official release a way better. Any feedback is welcome. Thank you.
