Description
What happened:
When an alert rule is configured on a library panel, the heart icon that typically indicates alert status does not appear on the panel when it's used in a dashboard, even though the alert is properly configured and functional.
What you expected to happen:
The heart icon should appear on library panel instances in dashboards when alerts are configured, similar to how it works with regular panels.
How to reproduce:
- Create a library panel with a query
- Configure an alert rule on the library panel
- Use the library panel in a dashboard
- Observe that no heart icon appears on the panel, despite the alert being active
Environment:
- Grafana version: Grafana v11.6.1+security-01 (1cbaaef)
- Browser: Edge
Additional context:
Regular (non-library) panels show the heart icon correctly when alerts are configured. This appears to be specific to library panels.
Question: Is this expected behavior or a bug? If expected, is there a workaround to display alert status on library panel instances?
