I guess it makes sense for e.g. for Debian Stretch, even if there is no C++17 support in CMake before 3.8 (but when there is a C++17 capable compiler, there should be a more modern CMake too).

Hi @fenglc! There is interest to move to the more liberal MIT license. To allow this to happen, I would like to ask you as a contributor, to agree to this re-licensing with a reply to issue #47
