While working on https://github.com/github/atom.io/pull/461 I revisited a package I did a little work on around atom v0.39.0, https://github.com/atom/theme-screenshot

At some point in the last 50 version of Atom, it appears that the code there (as well as the code in the docs) started returning an empty buffer, or the api changed in a way that is not obvious to me. I also generated a new package that only takes one screenshot and does nothing else, and sure enough, the buffer was empty.

So, what can I do to generate pngs with larger than 0 filesize? Is this maybe a regression of atom-shell?
