Feature Description:

Node 18 has dropped out of it's maintenance windows. I propose we end support for node 18 because it would make our life simpler, because we could upgrade node-gyp, which in turn would let us use newer python versions than 3.11, which has been causing problems for some adopters. Unfortunately, we cannot support node 24 yet, in particular because the nan package does not compile yet. See nodejs/nan#979
