"Quick Start" page of the specs2 website starts of with "Install sbt"; "Installation" chapter of the "User Guide", linked form the "Quick Start" chapter (confusingly, not the same as the Quick Start" page), starts of with "The recommended way to install specs2 is via sbt.".

If, at some point, you decide to mention other build tools that support specs2 in either (or both) of those places, be advised that specs2 can be used in Gradle with the the Gradle plugin for Scala.js and Scala Native :)
