What happened?

Description

My boss is trying to edit pages and suddenly isn't allowed to. He's getting incorrect restrictions and no-one has changed any permissions for User Groups or Users. I have changed translation options on numerous fields though. He's been fine for days.

Permissions he has on his user, which are inherited from the "Website Admin" user group:

Here, he can see the Pages section (which he has full permissions for)

But clicking any page results in...

I don't doubt this is an edge case, but the only way I've been able to get him to access those pages for editing is to make him a full admin.

Any ideas how this situation might have happened?
