The GAMMA Initiative (Gateway API for Mesh Management and Administration) is the Gateway API adjacent project to use Gateway API constructs to describe service mesh traffic routing and other features. This CFP covers the work to implement these recommendations in Cilium.

** Describe your proposed solution**

At the time of writing, the GAMMA initiative is still very early, with an early proposal for binding HTTPRoutes to Kubernetes Services the main proposal. As such, the work for this issue is currently to track the efforts and update when we are ready to start doing a proof-of-concept for Cilium.
