Since nobody replied to this thread yet. I built a cve-search docker image by myself and following are the instructions.

Step 1: From mongo:3.4, install the dependencies.

FROM mongo:3.4                                                                                                                                                                                     
RUN apt-get update                                                                                               
RUN apt-get -yqq install python3 python3-pip python3-dev pkg-config software-properties-common git vim           
RUN apt-get -yqq install libxml2-dev libxslt1-dev zlib1g-dev libffi6 build-essential libssl-dev libffi-dev       
RUN mkdir /home/user/                                                                                            
WORKDIR /home/user/                                                                                              
RUN git clone https://github.com/cve-search/cve-search.git                                                       
WORKDIR /home/user/cve-search                                                                                    
RUN pip3 install -r requirements.txt

Step 2: Start this docker image in interactive mode (docker run -it) and run the following commands

mongod &
./sbin/db_mgmt.py -p                  
./sbin/db_mgmt_cpe_dictionary.py      
./sbin/db_updater.py -c

Step 3: Now you can run any commands (./bin/search.py) inside the container, as well as commit this docker image and push to Docker Hub for usage on other machines.
