What's the status of this? Doesn't-yet-make-the-build deterministic?

Correct; I guess some faketime trickery is needed also.

I'm working on this and should have a whole set of updates to our gitian scripts in the next couple of days.

ef37761 Change travis.sh to check if variables are equal to yes instead of not-empty.
