Byzantron is a research organization dedicated to advancing the safety, robustness, and reliability of artificial intelligence and distributed systems. Our work spans several critical areas, including:

  • AI Safety and Security: Developing methods, algorithms, and technologies to ensure AI systems behave reliably and securely, even in adversarial or unpredictable environments.
  • Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT): Researching consensus protocols and system architectures that enable distributed systems to withstand arbitrary or malicious faults, ensuring continued operation and trustworthiness.
  • Distributed Machine Learning: Innovating in decentralized AI training and inference, with a focus on privacy, resilience to attacks, and robust consensus mechanisms.
  • Safety-Critical Applications: Applying AI safety and BFT principles to domains such as autonomous vehicles, critical infrastructure, and secure data infrastructures.
  • Collaborative Research: Partnering with universities and industry to develop new concepts for trustworthy and reliable AI, including projects on attack prevention, anomaly detection, and adaptive consensus protocols.
