There's a few reasons I wanted to add that in, some personal, some not:

I started this app as a hobby to learn swift/swiftui better
I wanted to see if I could do it without requiring a dependency like the lipo binary, which most apps that can do this, are just a wrapper around it. I was able to do it all in code, I thought that was nifty
It has been requested multiple times via different channels to be added in Pearcleaner, so it seems there's still some need for it out there.

Some observations regarding your comment:

The savings can be small on some apps, but there's some where you can cut down quite a bit, I use it myself. A couple examples, I cut down my Windows Remote Desktop app from like 240Mb to 190Mb, I cut down my Zoom app from 900+Mb to 650-ish. I don't consider that paltry. For users who purchased low end macs with very small storage, any savings helps. This might not apply to you though, which is cool if it doesn't 👍🏻
All MAS apps aren't redownloading the bits after being lipo'd in my testing, extracting the arch fat headers out of a binary doesn't compromise the signing authority, it's only if you remove or add new files to bundles usually that the signing can possibly break. The signature doesn't keep track of the file sizes as far as I know and have seen in my testing. The example app I mentioned where it did redownload its files again has a built-in mechanism where it checks for file integrity on launch because it's a cross-platform application. Majority of MAS apps I've lipo'd do not redownload the missing headers automatically.
Do you have a recent example of where running lipo on an app is "bricking" it? I'd be curious to see if my way of doing also has this issue and if it does, if I can fix it. That might've been the case 15 years ago with powerpc/intel lipo since the mach-o headers were more brittle back then and fat binaries weren't handled as robustly by the system. But these days with intel/arm lipo, there's way less chance of bricking unless you strip the needed slices or accidentally overwriting code signatures.
