As part of our journey to increase the number of items that can be added to a project from 1200, as per this feedback we have now released an alpha of an 'unlimited archive' experience. This discussions is to:
If you are in the alpha and did not request to be added, this is because your project was identified as one with a large archive which could benefit from this new experience. If you wish to revert to the old experience please comment here and we can do so (you will need to first make sure your project has an archive less that 10k items) The unlimited archive will eventually be the same as the current experience (just with more items), however while we iterate towards this today it has the limitations that you can only search over the archive with Please let us know what you think and we will keep you updated as we continue to progress towards an unlimited projects experience! |

@azenMatt - Hi again. We are seeing the 'maximum number of items reached' error despite being added to this alpha. Please could you double check we are definitely on it? If we are definitely on it, what info do you need from us to help diagnose the issue? Thanks |

This is because the alpha so far only allows unlimited items in the archive of a project. We are working on bringing it to the main project and are looking that have this ready by the end of the year |

Hi @azenMatt We have also hit that limit, however in our case we are on the Enterprise Server versioned 3.10. Is there a way for us to participate in this alpha. Is there any plans on including this into next versions My best regards |

Hi, this won't be available on GHES until we move it out of beta into GA. But we will keep pushing to make that happen as soon as possible |

On my team we archive all items at the end of the week, then in our Monday morning meeting we open the archive and go through the items we completed. With unlimited archive available it's only showing me 37 items that are all very old, but I would like to see the items I have most recently archived. |
