Getting straight to the point: In the vanilla version of GOG, there's no fog. With a few tweaks and a modified DLL, it's possible to have fog, but it looks like the one in the images below... Therefore, it's a known bug.

In the source port, in the previous version 0.81.1-beta, the fog was fine at this level, but in the current version 0.82.0-windows-x64, what I found was this:

I know I can disable fog in the "cfg" file, but then the entire game will be fogless, and that's bad. :)
