To save some additional power I would like to disable the clock output by default. Is anyone using this feature so this should be configurable? I guess it only makes sense if the cpu is clocked by the transceiver.

I'm for making the driver turn off the output by default. Give it a week for users to respond indicating they're using the clock output line for MCU clocking.

If none of the current at86rf2xx users is using the clock line I say we can wait until we have a use case before adding a compile time configuration switch "don't disable the at86rf2xx clock output during reset".
