Oryx 2.7.0 causes this except when run on a 'plain' upstream release of Spark:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/spark/streaming/kafka010/LocationStrategies

This is because it doesn't include the Kafka integration by default, whereas distros typically do. It needs to be packaged with the apps.
