Describe the bug
There is no way to exit search mode after removing text from the search field (except reproducing #910).

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Enter some text into the search field
2. Clear the entered text (not by Cancel button or Escape button)
3. Push Escape button
4. Still in search mode

Expected behavior
Search mode should be canceled and all items in the selected group should appear

Desktop (please complete the following information):

• macOS: 10.14.6
• Version 0.7.9 (21870-master)
