  • The story of Aleksandar Markovic – from law student to WG senior game designer 🤯 Following your passion can make you take seemingly crazy leaps of faith, but it is all worth it in the end. One such story is of our senior game designer Aleksandar Marković who abandon law studies after realizing his passion was in game design.   After years of studying hard and getting his game analysis to pro level, life served him with a failure to successfully launch a game and video game design studio. But he took fails and turned them into wins - he remained humble and left plenty of room to grow. That is when our paths crossed. “You can do this yourself. It’s not a straightforward path, and it’s definitely a bumpy one, but to have a chance to turn your passion into a career and a profession, it’s definitely worth it!” Want to get a head start in becoming a game designer? • Wargaming renews its commitment as Official Partner of FC Lorient! ⚽ For the 4th consecutive year, we are proud to announce the renewal of our partnership with Football Club de Lorient, who returns this season to Ligue 1, after being crowned Ligue 2 Champions. A remarkable comeback that reflects values we proudly share with the club: resilience, determination, and team spirit—not to mention our shared colors🟠⚫! This season is very special for the Breton club as it celebrates its 100th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the new "home" jersey will pay tribute to the club’s history with a bold black and orange (tango) checkered design, inspired by the kits worn in the 1920s. It’s also a milestone year for World of Tanks, which celebrates its 15th anniversary. The World of Tanks logo will be proudly displayed on the back of the jersey—an emblem of our continued support and commitment. Beyond the shared colors, this partnership is rooted in the deeper values that connect Wargaming and FC Lorient: a relentless pursuit of excellence, a fervent fanbase known for its loyalty, and the deep passion of our player community for World of Tanks. This alliance is a tribute to devotion, loyalty, and collective spirit. Thank you to everyone who brings this shared ambition to life each day. Let’s continue to build bridges between passion, performance, and entertainment – together!  #Wargaming #WorldOfTanks #FCLorient #Partnership #Sponsorship #Ligue1 #TeamSpirit #Football #CentenaryFCL #GamingMeetsFootball #MajorPartner #WOTAnniversary

The gaming industry, on its backend, is highly competitive and dynamic. Every position, whether as an artist, programmer, or QA tester, must start somewhere, and that is why it is crucial to foster a culture of support for early careers, junior positions, and those who are yet to become experienced game developers. We sat down with Oliver Moore, Head of Content in World of Tanks, to gather his insights on this topic through his experience as a manager and team leader. To start off, we asked him what his core principles are when it comes to supporting junior or less experienced team members. “Well, support isn’t just top-down. It is about creating a team-wide culture where everyone shares responsibility in helping others grow. I tailor support to each person and task individually and definitely avoid the one-size-fits-all approach. I regularly check-in to ensure that progress has been made but without grating micromanagement, and I reinforce the notion that mistakes are a natural part of learning. ” With anywhere from 25 to 40 articles published each month and up to 90 tasks moving through the team, Oliver knows that mistakes are inevitable, even with strong QA. He makes it clear that everyone has slipped up at some point, and that is perfectly fine. The team uses retros and check-ins to reflect on what went wrong and what everyone can learn from that. This keeps an open, supportive, and growth-focused atmosphere. There are several things that he regularly employs to help his team further develop their skills. “I promote a healthy mix of internal and external training, giving team leads ownership over their budgets and choices. I stay alert to new tools and software that can boost efficiency, but I am careful not to overwhelm the team. When time allows it, I encourage side projects that can allow team members to stretch their skills and give them space to follow their interests.” Oliver also stresses the importance of proper feedback. It is a constant part of the workflow, but he makes it collaborative rather than directive. He highlights what needs to be changed, but also creates space for gathering suggestions and discussing everything. It is important to him that team members feel comfortable, push back, and express their opinions, since these conversations often lead to stronger outcomes. We asked him what signals he looks for in team members to know they are ready for more responsibility or a promotion. “I look for people who consistently go beyond expectations. When someone takes initiative, owns their work fully, and helps raise the bar for others, that is a very clear signal. Passion, curiosity, and a mindset focused on personal and team growth are what I look for when I am considering the next step.” If you need support in your first steps towards the gaming industry, regardless of your experience, head over to WG’s Discord Server https://lnkd.in/dd2iX76P – we are available to answer all of your questions.
