We’re delighted to announce that Automattic has aquired Clay, a relationship management tool that automatically organizes and intelligently searches your entire network. This partnership will help us further our vision for the future of connecting humans.

Clay helps people and businesses manage their connections more effectively. The platform offers unique value through AI-driven insights, comprehensive coverage, revolutionary search, instant notes and more, all designed to simplify the way we build and maintain relationships. Clay compiles and updates information about users’ connections across email, texts, calendars, social media, and contacts, allowing users to easily track and nurture their relationships.

We believe Clay aligns perfectly with Automattic’s dedication to making online experiences better for everyone. Clay’s ethos is rooted in empathy, thoughtful design, and simplicity, reflecting a deep commitment to improving how people connect and collaborate. By bringing Clay into the Automattic family, we can explore its relationship-focused approach and integrate it across our messaging ecosystem.

Co-founders Zachary Hamed and Matthew Achariam, along with the rest of the Clay team, will be right at home at Automattic. Joining our Other Bets division alongside the likes of Beeper and Gravatar, we’ll tackle relationship management and messaging to deliver richer, more personalized experiences. Clay will be the only intelligent relationship management tool to leverage messaging data at scale and work across multiple channels.

Please join us in celebrating this exciting step forward. We’ll be sharing updates on how Clay’s technology will be integrated into our products.
