Mercur supports deployment on Medusa Cloud! Our official demo and internal deployments now run on Medusa Cloud - a hosted backend environment maintained by the Medusa team. It’s the fastest way to launch your instance of Mercur without managing infrastructure. You can still host it wherever you prefer, but for most projects, we recommend Medusa Cloud for speed & simplicity. To make things easier, we’ve prepared a step-by-step deployment guide to help you get started in minutes. Check out the docs → https://lnkd.in/dAfTGsqY

And the latest for now! I helped Escargot migrate their e-commerce backend, already using Medusa from v1 to v2. The migration was quite interesting, as it implied a full rewrite of the backend, even splitting it in two, and a full data migration using raw SQL scripts. Check some details: https://lnkd.in/ekqEZMGc (Hopefully full blog post coming up!)

Seems counterintuitive, but the ultimate no-code tool is one that can produce a maximum amount of code. No-code/drag-and-drop style tools are viable when you can generalize a handful of key workflows to a sufficiently large group. Eventually companies will need something that’s different from those workflows though. The problem is that building on top of traditional no-code tools is a terrible experience. Hacky workarounds and a nagging feeling that things will break anytime. We experienced this first hand working with Shopify specifically. Medusa was built to give companies the flexibility to expand digital commerce beyond the standard workflows and our approach was more-code instead of no-code. With tools like Cursor and Claude Code the more-code approach is becoming feasible for more companies, and we are still only at the beginning.

We have a new opening for a Software Engineer to join our team leading Medusa’s open-source project. Medusa is the largest open-source ecommerce project, crossing 30,000 stars on GitHub this week. Our mission is to expand digital commerce through a more customizable foundation. This role is an opportunity to work on the most critical pieces driving that mission. Here are a few examples of what you will do: • Design and implement end-to-end commerce features such as RBAC. • Introduce new tools to our framework for customization. • Host calls and actively engage with our community of over 10,000 developers. • Help shape the technical direction of the project. ☞ Find the link in the comments.
