OpenAI releases two open source models (gpt-oss-120b and gpt-oss-20b) with an Apache 2.0 license and performance numbers comparable to o3 and o4-mini across benchmarks, such as MMLU, AIME 2025 (tools), GPQA, etc. MCP-Agent supports both gpt-oss-120b and gpt-oss-20b to up-level your open-source agents. What. A. Week. 🎉 We loved sharing our vision for the cognitive layer of the internet with such an incredible crowd of AI builders. - At Databricks x Pensar Demo Night, Andrew demoed mcp-agent alongside the teams from Nomic AI and Pensar. - At AI Builders NYC, Sarmad shared recent MCP developments, from deploying agents as MCP servers to our path to securing them with agent-level auth, and making long-running workflows first-class citizens. Oh… and mcp-agent has been trending on GitHub’s Python page for 3 days straight 🐍 The MCP wave is real and growing. We’re excited to keep pushing the boundaries. Come talk to us. Big thanks to the organizers, hosts, and everyone we met. Kyle Bhiro, Kerem Proulx, Thorsten Schaeff, Kenneth Auchenberg, Tanveer Mittal, Hatice Ozen, Natalie Neptune, AlleyCorp, ElevenLabs, Groq, Anthropic

🎉 Back on GitHub’s Trending Page! Our open-source framework, mcp-agent, is trending... again. Huge thanks to everyone who’s been trying it, sharing it, and starring the repo. If you haven’t checked it out yet and you’re building AI agents or thinking about MCP, now’s a good time! ⭐ https://lnkd.in/d7-vTJWA

Some people trust wealth managers. Others invest themselves. This app is for the DIY investors 😎 What I built with LastMile AI's mcp-agent series: I built a financial analyzer that fetches real-time market data, news, and financial metrics, rigorously validates each dataset, and generates a clear markdown report with precise risk analysis and actionable investment recommendations for a single stock or a portfolio. Some Technical Highlights: - Orchestrator routes tasks across specialized agents based on context - Evaluator performs automated data validation and consistency checks - Integrates fetch, google-search, and filesystem MCP servers for real-time data ingestion and storage Let me know what you think and what agent should I build next? Last night, Sarmad gave a quick rundown of what we’ve been building with mcp-agent, including a new feature: elicitation, bringing human-in-the-loop support to MCP-based agents. Any MCP server can now pause mid-task and wait for user input. Super useful for building more dynamic, reliable workflows. Big thanks to Dria for organizing and betaworks for hosting. Incredible turnout, 500+ signed up, 200+ showed up. Great energy, even better conversations. p.s. don't forget to update to the latest release and try it in your workflows ;)

If you watch a single video about #MCP and AI Agents, this should be the one! There is so much Sarmad Qadri has to share about real-world considerations of Agents and MCPs. A rare opportunity to gain insights from a seasoned AI Agent expert. Sarmad is the CEO of LastMile AI and the author of the mcp-agent project, technologies I'm going to cover in my *MCP Bootcamp* course on Udemy in the upcoming weeks. If you're new to agents and MCPs or want to learn from hard-earned lessons in production, don't miss this conversation! Check out the YouTube link in the comments.
